Who is Lingo Luna for?

Lingo Luna is designed for young learners with parent guidance. Choose a course taught in a language the learner understands: Spanish and German are taught in English; American English is taught in Spanish or German. The interface and instructions follow the course’s teaching language. Families can start learning immediately and add parental controls later.

What can I manage in Parents?

Set up parental controls to protect Parents with a local PIN. Each learner has a dashboard with progress, an activity calendar, and direct edits for name, course, limits and preferences. A guided wizard helps you add learners. Parents contains settings and external links and locks when dismissed or backgrounded.

How do daily limits work?

Minutes and completed-round caps are optional and apply per child across all courses. Time counts only on foreground child learning screens, excluding Parents and background time. A completed Journey lesson, replay, or Practice round counts as one round.

A time cap pauses learning when it runs out. A round cap lets the completed result and treasure flow finish before blocking another round. If both caps are enabled, both need remaining allowance. Parents can add five minutes or one round for today. Allowances reset at local midnight, and usage survives relaunch and progress resets.

What if I forget the parent PIN?

Choose “Recover with device authentication” in Parents. A parent who controls the device passcode or enrolled biometrics can verify the device owner and set a new PIN. Keep these device credentials and the parent PIN private; there is no separate app account or email-based PIN reset.

What devices are supported?

Lingo Luna supports iPhone and iPad running iOS or iPadOS 17 and later. Lingo Luna Voice requires iOS or iPadOS 18 or later; on earlier supported versions, lessons use a compatible Apple system voice.

Do I need an online account or internet connection?

No separate app account is required. A parent PIN is optional: choose Start learning, or set up parental controls first. Core lessons, regular Practice, lesson audio, profiles, and progress work without a developer-operated server. On supported devices, the model for Lingo Luna Voice is included with the app and used automatically, with no separate download. An internet connection and the same Apple Account are needed for private iCloud sync when available. Control access in device Settings. An internet connection is also needed to install Lingo Luna, receive App Store updates, and buy or restore Full Access.

How does Lingo Luna Voice work?

On iOS or iPadOS 18 and later, Lingo Luna Voice includes a distinct, consistent voice for each of the eight cartoon human lesson guides in English, Spanish, and German, plus Luna’s own mascot voice. A human character is chosen randomly for each exercise when a lesson starts, and the portrait and voice stay matched throughout that exercise. Lesson speech is generated directly on the device without sending their text away. Model improvements arrive through normal Lingo Luna updates rather than a separate in-app download.

Lingo Luna Voice is used automatically on iOS or iPadOS 18 and later. On iOS or iPadOS 17, or whenever the bundled voice is unavailable, lessons automatically fall back to compatible installed Apple voices when available. Parents → Settings shows the active voice status and a sample.

Why can’t speaking practice hear me?

Open Settings → Privacy & Security and check that Microphone and Speech Recognition are enabled for Lingo Luna. On-device speech recognition must also be available for the selected language. You can always skip a speaking activity without blocking the lesson.

Where is learning progress stored?

Profiles, progress, daily activity counts and limits save locally in the app container and sync with private iCloud storage when available. Device or iCloud backups are separate. The parent-PIN verifier remains in device-local Keychain storage and does not sync. Lingo Luna does not operate a learner-data server.

How do I remove local data?

Deleting Lingo Luna removes its local app container, including profiles and progress. Apple’s Offload App removes the installed app and its bundled files, including Lingo Luna Voice, while keeping local Documents & Data so they can be restored after reinstalling. Deleting the app does not delete its private iCloud copy. A new installation can recover progress after a successful sync using the same Apple Account. Existing device backups are managed separately through Apple’s settings. Parent access is stored separately in the Keychain; if a PIN is still requested after reinstalling, use device-owner recovery.

How do puzzles and trophies work?

Every newly completed Journey lesson earns a treasure. The first eight lesson positions in a theme unlock eight pieces of a Luna picture puzzle. The eighth piece completes the picture and unlocks its trophy automatically. Complete the remaining lessons to earn seven shining trophy facets. The Trophy Room holds one trophy for each of the 20 themes in a course.

Why didn’t a replay earn another puzzle piece?

Each Journey lesson awards its treasure once. Replays can improve your lesson result, and regular Practice helps you revisit learned material, but neither gives duplicate puzzle pieces or facets. For another treasure, choose a Journey lesson you have not completed.

How do I change learners or languages?

Tap the learner name or language shortcut above Journey, Practice or Trophies. When a parent PIN is configured, enter it before switching. Each learner returns to their saved course and progress. The interface changes to that course’s teaching language; the device language setting stays unchanged.

Can I choose a character?

Luna is every learner’s fox companion. Maya, Sofia, Nia, Clara, Leo, Mateo, Theo, and Kai rotate automatically across exercises; there is no character picker or unlock requirement. On iOS 18+, each human guide’s portrait stays paired with that guide’s bundled voice.

How does Practice work?

After finishing your first Journey lesson, tap Start practice for a short review of learned words and sentences. It brings back material due for review, or offers a unit review when you are caught up. Choose a unit lets you focus on a topic you have already started.

Which languages and courses are included?

Four courses are available: English → Spanish, English → German, Spanish → American English, and German → American English. Each has 20 themes and 300 lessons. Progress stays separate for each course.

Before a course is chosen, the interface follows your device language if it is English, Spanish or German, and uses English otherwise. After selection, it follows the course’s teaching language. iOS permission dialogs and other system controls follow your device settings.

Is Lingo Luna free?

Lingo Luna is free to download. In every course, the first theme of 15 lessons is free to learn, replay and practice as often as you like. There is no trial period to run out.

When your family is ready for more, one Full Access purchase unlocks all 20 themes and 300 lessons in all four courses, for every learner. You pay once. There is no subscription, and no ads or tracking.

How do I unlock or restore Full Access?

Open Parents and enter your parent PIN, or set one up, then choose Full Access. You’ll see the price for your country before Apple asks you to confirm. Apple handles the payment, so your card and billing details never reach goto LCS UG.

To restore on another device or after reinstalling, choose Restore purchases with the same Apple Account. An internet connection may be needed. Family Sharing is supported. Learning works offline after your access is verified.

I already paid for Lingo Luna. Do I need to buy again?

No. If you bought Lingo Luna before it became free to download, you keep Full Access. Use the same Apple Account and connect to the internet once after updating or reinstalling so the app can check your purchase. If needed, open Parents → Full Access → Restore purchases. Resetting a learner’s progress does not remove your purchase.

Who handles payments and refunds?

Apple processes every purchase through your Apple Account. For a refund or a billing question, visit reportaproblem.apple.com. For anything else about Full Access, email us below.

How does private iCloud sync work?

Progress saves locally first, then syncs automatically when iCloud is available. Use the same Apple Account on each device and allow Lingo Luna in device Settings → Apple Account → iCloud. Parents → iCloud shows status and Sync now. Keep both apps active while checking for updates; sync is not guaranteed to be instant.

Learner names, preferences, progress, rewards, daily activity and limits sync. Parent PINs, recordings, transcripts, voice models and widget cache do not. Disabling iCloud preserves local progress. Daily activity combines after syncing; disconnected devices may temporarily allow extra learning time. Deleting a learner or resetting progress propagates after sync.

How do vocabulary sessions work?

From lesson three, spoken memory cards revisit earlier words and phrases. Tap Start session once. Correct answers advance automatically; a miss stays on the card with Talk again and optional help. Skipping, pausing or leaving the app stops continuous listening. A recap shows which items were remembered, practiced or skipped. You can skip speaking when needed.

Can I add Home Screen widgets?

Add Today with Luna, My puzzle or Word to remember from your device’s widget gallery. Each supports small and medium sizes and can be configured for a learner and course. Widgets use a local display cache; open the app to refresh after syncing. Opening a widget respects configured parent controls and daily limits.
